Intro

Our commitment to quality and attention to detail is what makes AMC Composites a dominant player in the advanced composites manufacturing industry. Aiming to exceed expectations with every part we produce, we continually seek ways to further develop our processes directly benefitting our customers’ products. Quality verification is critical at every stage of the manufacturing process. We employ advanced inspection equipment and software to verify that every tool, component, and assembly meets or exceeds specified quality standards. Our inspection protocols are tailored to the unique requirements of part or assembly, ensuring reliability and performance in their final application. We work with the customer to develop quality guidelines that meet the applications’ requirements.

Composite Component Inspection

We inspect composite components to verify their structural integrity, dimensional accuracy, and surface quality when required.

  • Dimensional Analysis: Using laser scanners and coordinate measuring machines (CMM), we ensure that components meet specified tolerances.
  • Visual Inspection: Technicians assess surface finishes, identifying imperfections like voids, cracks, or delamination that could impact performance.
  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Techniques such as ultrasonic or X-ray testing can be employed to detect internal defects without compromising the part.

Composite Assembly Inspection

Our inspection services extend to complete composite assemblies, verifying they meet customer specifications and functional requirements.

  • Fit and Alignment Testing: We evaluate the integration of individual components within the assembly to verify alignment and compatibility.
  • Bond Strength Verification: Adhesive bonding is tested for strength and uniformity to ensure reliable connections in the assembly.
  • Functional Testing: For assemblies with mechanical or electrical features, we perform operational tests to confirm proper functionality.

Machined Component Inspection

Machined components undergo inspection to guarantee specified parameters.

  • Dimensional Verification: Components are measured against design specifications using multiple metrology methods, including CMM.
  • Surface Finish Inspection: Surface quality is checked for defects like tool marks and roughness, ensuring specified finish is achieved.
  • Material Integrity Testing: When applicable, material properties such as hardness and strength are verified to ensure components meet specification.

By integrating these inspection services into our manufacturing process, we ensure that every tool, part, and assembly delivered by AMC Composites meets our and the customers’ standards of quality.
